Getting to Toronto and the Lab

Toronto has two main airportsToronto Pearson Airport is located west of the city and is 21km from the Glendon College campus, where Colab is held. Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport is located downtown and 15km south of campus. A taxi ride to the downtown area will cost around $60 and $20 respectively, or public transportation is available.

Our Colab Practice Intensive is held in the Glendon College MCI Lab. The campus is located northeast of downtown and accessible via public transport (metro to bus – not located on the metro line). You can plan your trip via the TTC trip planner or Google Maps.

Once on campus, a Colab Crew Member will be stationed at the entrance of the first big glass building, the Centre of Excellence, to point you towards the lab. Here’s a campus map. Welcome!

Where to Stay

There are plenty of hotels, hostels and AirBnB options in Toronto. If you’d like to stay in the heart of it all, downtown is a great option, but be ready for a 45-55 minute commute to campus via public transport. For ease, you might wish to stay further north, closer to campus.

At times, Glendon is able to offer basic, low-cost dorm accommodations right on campus. This is a separate service that is not directly offered by Colab. To inquire about availability and reserve a room, contact Glendon Hospitality Services (glhospfd@yorku.ca // 416-736-2100 ext.88547).

Where to Eat

Downtown Toronto has some GREAT food, so do explore. But the Glendon campus is a bit more isolated. We recommend packing a lunch or optionally eating in the campus dining hall for convenience’s sake.

However for the more adventurous, there are some options at the nearest Metro location at Yonge and Lawrence, which is about a 20 minute walk or a short bus trip away from campus. At Yonge and Lawrence there are fast food outlets such as Pizza Pizza and some sit-in restaurants (Joy Thai, Parmegiano Trattoria, The Uptown Pub House, to name a few).

Quite a few eateries are also available a quick bus trip south of campus down Bayview Avenue between Manor Road and Davisville Avenue (California Roll, Lemongrass, Riz Restaurant).
